Thank you to this summer’s Beach Facility Attendants! Manchester-by-the-Sea’s BFAs are responsible for cleaning up the trash and the restrooms, as well as checking beach stickers and collecting fees for non-resident parking and walk-ons. The BFAs have been super all summer!
The fees collected at the beach are what keeps it running so the accuracy in the collection is very important. All BFAs are also trained in basic First Aid and CPR, always ready to jump into action if needed.
Their day starts with set up and a beach cleaning walk followed by a balance of cleaning, collecting money and assisting with parking. The attendants are also the ambassadors for the beach — answering questions, listening to comments and always trying to make the customers visit as pleasant and positive as possible! We also owe the BFAs a big thank you for giving up their weekends all summer long, which is not always easy for high school and college students. At the end of the day the BFAs once again give the entire facility a deep cleaning, count the money for accuracy and lock up for the night. Be sure to smile and say hello and thank you to a BFA when you see them!
