November Movie Night

On Friday, November 9 at 5:30 p.m., the library will be showing the hit documentary that examines the life and legacy of Fred Rogers, the beloved host of the popular children’s TV show “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” As one of the most iconic figures in American television history, this documentary not only takes a closer look at Mr. Rogers personal life, but also details how his show would go on to inspire a generation by confronting real world issues with an approachable outlook for children that helped define what it meant to be a good person and part of a healthy community. This movie is rated PG-13 and anyone under 13 must have a parent or guardian fill out a permission slip available at the Library’s circulation desk.

Veteran’s Day

The Library will be closed on Sunday, November 11th and Monday, November 12th in observance of the Veteran’s Day holiday. The Library will reopen on Tuesday, November 13 from 1-8 p.m.

Monthly Weekend Book Sales

The Friends of the Manchester Public library will be continuing their monthly book sales on Sunday, November 18 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.. Each Sunday the book sale carts will be filled, arranged, and staffed by a Friend of the Manchester Public Library. This is a great opportunity to check out some unique and interesting books that will support and supplement library programs and services. The upcoming sales will be held: December 1, January 13, February 17, March 17 and April 14.

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

The library will close early on Wednesday the 21 at 4 p.m., and will not be open Thursday, November 22 and Friday November 23. The library will reopen on Saturday the 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In the Children’s Room:

Babies, Books and More every Wednesday through December 19 at 10:30 a.m.

Join our circle of music, movement and simple stories in the Children’s Room. Suggested for birth through age 3, but everyone is welcome!

Book Nook Family Story Time Saturdays through December 8 at 10:30 a.m.                         

Families are invited to join Miss Melanie in the Book Nook for story time fun!

Nappy’s Shadow Puppets Presents:  Santa Got Fired!

As part of Christmas-by-the-Sea festivities, we invite families to join Jim ‘Nappy’ Napolitano for this humorous holiday tale. Shadow puppetry is one of the oldest and most wondrous of all puppets and is sure to detail kids of all ages! The show will be held at the 1st Parish Chapel, located behind Santander Bank on 1 Chapel Lane.  Everyone is invited back to the Library for holiday treats by the fireplace compliments of the Friends of the Library.
