Christmas Holiday Hours

The Library will close on Monday, December 24 at 1 p.m. The Library will be closed on Tuesday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday. The library will reopen on Wednesday, December 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

New Year’s Library Hours

The library will close at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 31. On Tuesday, January 1 the library will be closed for the New Year’s Holiday. The library will reopen on Tuesday, January 2 from 1-8 p.m.

In the Children’s Room:

Preschool Story Time Celebrates:  The Holidays!

Monday, December 17 at 1:30 p.m.   

Join us for seasonal stories, craft and a snack!  Please call 978-526-2016 to register.

Babies, Books and More every Wednesday through December 19 at 10:30 a.m.

Join our circle of music, movement and simple stories in the Children’s Room. Suggested for birth through age 3, but everyone is welcome!

Book Nook Family Story Time Saturdays through December 8 at 10:30 a.m.                         

Families are invited to join Miss Melanie in the Book Nook for story time fun!

Seaside Saturday:  Santa’s Workshop

Saturday, December 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Manchester Historical Museum

Get in the holiday spirit with seasonal stories, songs and crafts in the beautifully decorated Museum Hall!  All families are welcome to attend.

Holiday Family Fun:  Generation Pound!

Thursday, December 27 at 2 p.m. Space is limited and registration required. Sign-up today!

Turn off the device, get off the couch and join in the fun!  Jennifer Leshin of 4 x 4 FitnessPro will lead kids ages 5-12 in a session of GenerationPOUND!  Parents are welcome, too.

GENERATION POUND® is a youth-oriented program that fuses movement and music to improve focus, coordination, physical fitness and teamwork skills. By combining exercise and interactive activities, kids will learn new ways to explore movement, embrace their creativity and ROCK OUT—ultimately building strength, confidence and self-awareness.

Art Supply Drive – Benefiting Boston Kids in Need!

Will you be out holiday shopping anytime soon? Add another student artist to your shopping list.                                                                                                                                                              TAB (the Teen Advisory Board for the Manchester Public Library) has adopted a special needs, middle school classroom in a Boston Public  School.  These kids are artists! But, due to their school being underfunded, they lack art supplies.

 From November 26- December 14, bring in new and non-toxic art supplies. There will be a collection box outside the high school office or in the Manchester Public Library lobby.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              The most needed supplies are:

Drawing Paper                                 Acrylic paints and brushes

Cardstock paper                              Tapes – painters blue and Duck

Blank journals                                  Model Magic clay

Watercolor paint sets                      Fun stuff – pipe cleaners, stickers, feathers, glitter…
