The state 911 system is currently experiencing intermittent interruption of service related to problems with a nationwide internet service provider.  This is a national problem also impacting most of Massachusetts, including here in Manchester-by-the-Sea.

As a result, residents are temporarily urged contact the police or fire department for assistance by dialing  978-526-1212

Motorists or those on state property/highways needing State Police assistance can also call the Massachusetts State Police Newbury Barracks at 978-462-7478 or the Danvers Barracks at 978-538-6161 or any of the following State Police emergency call centers:

  • Shelburne Control PSAP 413-625-8200
  • New Braintree Control PSAP 508-867-1170
  • Northampton Control PSAP 413-586-1508
  • Framingham PSAP 508-820-2121.

Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
