BOS Update: May 7

3 min read

TA Drop-in Hours: Town Administrator Greg Federspiel has drop-in hours twice a month for residents who have a question or other need, no appointment necessary. Drop in hours are normally the second Thursdays of the month at noon and the fourth Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. For May this is the 9th at noon and the 23rd at 5:30 p.m. Of course, other times by appointment are always an option.

Construction Updates: The rainy weather has our paving contractors running behind schedule. School Street milling is now scheduled for Tuesday, May 14 and paving set for Thursday, May 16 assuming the weather cooperates. The work will extend from Flatley Avenue to Brook Street with detours in place both days next week.

Recycling Awareness efforts: Receive an “OOPS” sticker? Just trying to help you help us!  We are working to clean up our recyclable goods in order to avoid paying penalties for contaminated loads. Changes in the recycling market are requiring a higher standard of pure recyclable materials free from non-recyclable products.  Please avoid using or putting any plastic bags with your recyclable items – use bins or a trash can marked recyclables.  For a complete list of do’s and don’ts, go to the DPW’s recycling page on the Town’s web site.

Immediate Openings: There is an immediate opening for an alternate committee member on the Zoning Board of Appeals as well as openings on the Animal Control Board, please contact Sonja Nathan at 978-526-2000 or [email protected]  for more information if you are interested.

Town Election Day is May 21.  The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial School.
